We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the treatment you plan to undergo and ask any questions that occur to you. It is a good idea to have a good grasp of the treatment process so that you can feel safe about it. This is especially important when it comes to complex treatments, such as plastic surgery or dental surgery. In some cases a medical treatment may be contraindicated due to special circumstances such as pregnancy, diabetes, a smoking habit, etc. These matters should preferably be discussed well in advance of a planned treatment. Our specialists are highly qualified and will help you identify the best solution to achieve your health goals. Together with an informed, proactive customer, even difficult decisions can be made with confidence.
Most people carry health insurance today. When planning medical treatments and international travel, it is always important to verify that your insurance policy is up-to-date and what it covers. Read more about your rights when it comes to planned healthcare abroad here.
In order to derive the maximum benefit from the treatment provided through Swedish MedCare, you should be prepared to submit copies of any medical documentation relevant to your case, such as previous test results and hospital charts. Having this information at hand increases the chances of drawing up the diagnostic and/or treatment plan best suited to your particular needs.
Financing and payment
If you have planned an extensive program of treatment, you should make sure that you will be able to make the payments required, especially if they may exceed the daily limit on your credit or debit card. For extensive treatment program or surgery pre-payment (at least partial) might be required.
